Our Story

Sōlune™ (so-loon) is luxury satin loungewear, designed to move seamlessly between day & night. Named for the light in Beachwood Canyon, Los Angeles — sol, the sun, and lune, the moon — Sōlune™ is designed by local female designer Denise Gertmenian.

The fabric is custom woven Beachwood Satin, made from sustainable viscose yarns to evoke the look and feel of silk, where color comes alive in the light, but with the added breathability of a plant-based fiber.

Denise was inspired to create Sōlune™ when a vintage silk sample from her design archive revealed a new way of effortless, throw-on dressing. During the pandemic, as athleisure became the default, she wanted something more elevated — pieces that felt light on the body and refined enough to step out in. A system for life in motion that also allows for rest in between.

Denise spent a decade designing in New York, where she launched Rae —worn by Fergie, Selma Blair, and Gayle King during her interview with Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention — women who embody confidence and the presence that clothing is meant to inspire. Select pieces from Rae now live on through Reclaimé, an upcycled made-to-order collection. Today, Sōlune™ brings ease and quiet elevation to the way women dress — fluid, considered, and lived in.
